United Sustainability Energy Agency (USEA) announced last week its merger with the National Energy Foundation (NEF). The integration of both organisations, under the NEF umbrella, takes place with immediate effect. The organisations have a track record of working successfully together for 15 years and share a reputation for excellence in improving the use of energy in buildings.

The integration of both not for profit organisations is already well underway with the newly enhanced operational capabilities of the combined entity being deployed to benefit existing projects. Dr Kerry Mashford remains the Chief Executive of NEF, while Brad Hook, formerly USEA’s CEO, becomes Operations Director and will also take on the role of CEO of the Green Deal Together CIC during its start-up period.

Brad Hook, now NEF Operations Director, commented:
“By combining forces, NEF will be able to offer a much enhanced range of services. For example, we can provide support to Local Authorities in a way that they haven’t had access to before; across the full remit of carbon and energy strategy development and implementation, ranging from baseline emissions reporting, portfolio energy management, procurement, fuel poverty, HECA strategy and reporting, Green Deal and ECO feasibility and acquisition, staff engagement and project management of schemes.”

Dr Kerry Mashford, Chief Executive, added:

“Combining the successful ‘on the ground’ project design and delivery competencies of both organisations gives us greater scope to achieve positive results now and solve the challenges of energy use in buildings in the future. We are the only independent, not for profit, ‘energy doctor for buildings’ offering this level of end-to-end service for all types of building stock”.
