Retro Expo is delighted to announce that Richard Blakeway, Deputy Mayor of London and Shannon Lawrence, the Energy Initiative Director at C40 will be keynote speakers at the Retrofit London Conference taking place on 06 December at the Business Design Centre in London.

The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group is a network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change. Shannon Lawrence will open the conference with a global view of how cities are addressing the market for energy efficiency and ways in which London is leading the international field. Richard Blakeway, Deputy Mayor for Housing, Land and Property will close the conference with a keynote address on how retrofitting at scale in London will drive economic growth.

“More than 12 million homes in and around the capital require a low carbon retrofit. This is a big task and one that needs to be done at scale. It won’t be simple but the opportunity is huge, not just to deliver energy efficiency, but also significant social and economic value. Londoners are shaping and delivering many leading retrofit projects around the world and we have some great examples in the capital.”

“By bringing together leaders in retrofit from London’s property owners, supply chain and the public sector, we will highlight best practice and support large scale replication. This is vital if we’re to meet government 2050 targets in a way that maximises value for Londoners.”  says Ian Short, Chief Executive of the Institute for Sustainability, who will be chairing  the open plenary.

Supported by the Mayor of London, the one day conference targeted at the public sector, supply chain and property owners will explore the growing retrofit market in London. The conference will shed a light on the practicalities of retrofitting London, how to engage customers, retrofit business opportunities and the latest regulation, sources of funding and pioneering technologies.

Other leading retrofit speakers include:

Nicky Wightman, Savills - a global real estate services provider offering a broad range of specialist advisory, management and transactional services to clients all over the world.
