Leeds Set for EWI Tests

17th April, 2013

Leeds City Council could be set to trial the installation of external wall insulation on whole streets of Victorian terraces. The plan is set out in the council’s draft Home energy conservation act further report, which covers actions up to 2023.
The council is already trialling green deal works, but until a new city region-wide scheme comes into effect in 2014, it is considering awarding contracts to a tender currently under way to allow it to deliver other green deal projects. These will include installing external wall insulation on properties of all tenure types, on non-traditionally built homes, and on whole streets.
