Knauf Insulation uses IWI for Glasgow efficiency scheme

25th October, 2013

Knauf Insulation's ThermoShell® Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) has been used to improve the energy efficiency of a number of fuel-poor Glasgow homes.

Based in the Springburn area of Glasgow, where many residents are affected by fuel poverty, social landlord NG Homes has embarked on a large-scale refurbishment project to improve the thermal efficiency of its housing stock.

Following close consultation with contractors City Technical, system has been specified for use throughout the project. Nearly 600 properties have been tackled, across six high-rise tower blocks.

It is expected that the work will result in significant heating savings for residents (the Energy Saving Trust advises that this can be up to £460 per year for solid wall insulation) and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
