Green Deal ORB Launches Green Deal Participant Register

22nd August, 2012

Gemserv as the Green Deal Oversight and Registration Body (GD ORB) has announced the opening of the Green Deal Registration process for assessors, installers and certification bodies and the launch of Green Deal Provider authorisation process via the GD ORB website:

The website was launched ahead of the staged introduction of the Green Deal later in the year and will be a valuable source of information for potential Providers, Certification Bodies, Installers and Assessors interested in participating in the Green Deal.

Gemserv, with their partners REAL, has been appointed to provide these services on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for the next three years following an open competition. Both Gemserv and REAL currently operate the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for DECC so are well acquainted with the challenges and requirements involved in operating a scheme of this nature.

The Green Deal Participant Register gives the seal of approval to Providers, Certification Bodies, Installers and Assessors that successfully go through the authorisation process. Once successfully authorised, their details will be publically registered online. The registers will go public on 1 October, from which point those on the register will be authorised and may use the Green Deal logo.
Information on assessors and installers will be supplied by Certification Bodies and register data will be maintained and updated regularly by the GD ORB.

Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker said: I am delighted to announce a number of important developments for the Green Deal today. The opening of the Green Deal register will enable businesses to start becoming Green Deal authorised.

You can hear more from Gemserv and the GD ORB later this year at Retro Expo, where Gemserv are a key sponsor.
