Green Construction Board publish existing buildings support mechanism scoping study

17th April, 2013

The Low Carbon Construction IGT report, published in November 2010, recommended that Government, with industry, set up an ‘Existing Homes Hub’ to bring together key participants to formulate and monitor the delivery of a nationwide retrofit programme. In carrying this recommendation forward, the Green Construction Board (GCB) Buildings Working Group commissioned consultants Sweett (UK) Ltd and Verco Ltd in September 2012 to develop a scoping study to explore the remit and feasibility of a joint industry, Government and other stakeholders' "hub" for existing homes/buildings. This report has now been published and is being considered by the GCB, its Buildings Working Group and Government.
