DECC has announced the winners of the £46m 2012/13 Fuel Poverty Competition for Local Authorities.
The competition for funds to alleviate fuel poverty, increase energy efficiency and encourage collective switching and purchasing triggered a massive response from across the UK. £31m have been allocated to help vulnerable householders keep warm this winter, £10m to kick-start the Green Deal with ‘Pioneer Places’ projects and £5m will be used to encourage collective switching schemes (‘Cheaper Energy Together’).
