DECC Statistics Give Confidence on Green Deal Uptake

DECC has published KPI statistics on Green Deal and ECO for March.
The Green Deal launched on 28 January 2013 in England and Wales and on 25 February in  Scotland. ECO started on 1 January 2013 for Great Britain. Key points (to the end of March) are:
  • 9,268 GD Assessments had been lodged to date (Chart 1), up from 1,803 at end of February (with 7,465 in March alone, compared to 1,729 in February).
  • 108 GD Assessor Organisations and the 1,003 GD Advisors they employ had been  accredited, up from 77 and 618 at end February respectively
  • £68.9 million worth of contracts had been let through the ECO brokerage system,  compared to £26.9 million at end February.

15 new Green Deal Providers registered in February, and 8 further organisations have been listed on the Green Deal ORB register by 10th April, bringing the total number of registered providers to 48. Scottish Power and EON were the only members of the ‘Big 6’ utilities still to register. Major building distribution brands are strongly represented by Toriga (Travis Perkins), Grafton, Greenworks (Saint Gobain Distribution), Wolseley and Kingfisher all registered.

The Green Deal Oversight and Registration Body (GD ORB) maintains and publishes a register containing the details of Green Deal Certification Bodies.

The Certification Body Register was launched on 8th August 2012, and is updated regularly.
